10 Ways to Pamper Yourself

By Busy Moms Tips

Rushing the kids around to their activities, running errands, work, and keeping house can all cause a lot of stress. As Moms, we are the last ones to get the much needed relaxation we deserve.

It is important for us to take time out for ourselves so that we don't wear ourselves out because feeling run down can make us susceptible to illness. And we all know that "Moms can't get sick". Here are a few ways you can de-stress, relax and get some "me" time.

  1. Listen to music that makes you feel calm and peaceful. Perhaps while in the bath, sitting outdoors and doing whatever it is you enjoy that is relaxing.
  2. Take a warm bath and focus on how the warm water eases your muscles. Image all the stress of the day draining out of the body.
  3. Take a long leisurely walk. A nice leisurely walk on the beach or through a park can help clear your mind.
  4. Participate in your hobbies. Doing something you enjoy doing will definitely relax you and bring a smile to your face.
  5. Do yoga or Tai Chi or perhaps a light aerobic workout. Working out releases endorphins which can improve your mood.
  6. Read a good book. Find a nice quite place and curl up with a book you've been wanting to read.
  7. Give yourself a facial, pedicure and manicure. Grab some facial creams, foot soaks and nail polish and start pampering away.
  8. Do some gardening. Tending to your garden or flowers can relax you and de-stress you.
  9. Rent a comedy movie and laugh. Laughter activates your body's stress response, then quickly cools it down leaving you feeling relaxed.
  10. Catch up with friends on the phone or for a lunch date. We all need a little girl time and time to chat with our friends.

It's easy to get caught up taking care of the kids and forget to take care of ourselves. Thanks for commenting.
