How to Make More Time For Yourself
68These days we are more busier than ever. Our days are jammed pack and we’re constantly on the go. Whether it’s chauffeuring the kids to their activities, taking care of the home or working at a job, we are just busy. Before we know it the days turn into weeks and then into months and we wonder how it could be the holidays again already. With our busy lives it is very important to try and make time for us. You can spend that quality time reading, relaxing in the tub, exercising, or watching a funny movie. Here are some tips you can incorporate into your daily schedule to ensure you get some much needed time for yourself.
Make a Budget and Schedule
It’s important that you budget time for yourself into your daily schedule. Include time for yourself at least weekly and every day if possible. Schedule that time on your calendar and actually make an appointment with yourself. Decide how much time you can put aside for yourself whether it be 30 minutes or 3 hours. Schedule that time in writing in your calendar and don’t break your appointment.
Prioritize
All of us have to learn how to prioritize on a daily basis. Not everything and everyone is equally important. We have to remember that making time for ourselves is just as important as anything else in our lives. Making time for ourselves on a regular basis gives our life balance.
Be Choosy
Try to spent less time on tasks and activities that aren’t that important and more time on things that really matter. Doing so will free up some time in your day and allow you to have some free time for yourself.
Just Say No
If you are one of those people who just can’t say, “No”, then you end up with no time for yourself. Say, “Yes” only if you have the time and it is something that you must get personally involved with. Additionally, don’t change your scheduled appointment with yourself unless it is an emergency.
Cooperation
Ask others in the family to respect the personal time you have scheduled for yourself. Having 20 minutes of personal time after getting home from work and before starting dinner or choirs can make all the difference in your mood.
Don’t Be a Perfectionist
Make a compromise with yourself and know that it is okay to not be perfect. Relaxing and not making sure every little thing is perfect, can free up some extra time for you. Just think, ninety minutes saved each week equals an extra six hours each month.
Delegate
You don’t have to do everything yourself. Have others in the house help out with choirs and you’ll be able to have more free time. Additionally, you could hire someone to help out around the house such as a gardener or a house cleaner. It doesn’t cost as much as you think and you’ll be buying the best gift of all – the gift of time.
Consolidate
Consolidating your tasks can save you a lot of time. Make a list of errands and try to do those things that are located in the same area. Doing so, will eliminate you driving all over town or making several trips. When preparing meals, prepare enough for two meals and freeze one of them for another day. You could even freeze several meals in advance.
Appreciate Your Time
Realize that with each day that passes, it’s gone forever. Live your life with that in mind and make every moment count.
Tens Way to Paper Yourself. Rushing the kids around to their activities, running errands, work, and keeping house can all cause a lot of stress...

Good advice! My mother used to tell me all the time that you are no good to your family if you are not good to yourself. Primarily she was refferencing physical health but she knew that mental health was just as important. As busy working mothers, we tend to forget about ourselves a lot. Every so often we have got to say "it's my time". Thanks for the reminder (it's been a eight months since I got out without the kids)!!
